Partner Programs
Jimmie has been a member of the National Celebrity Cabinet of the American Red Cross since 2002. Jimmie has teamed with Lowe's, his primary sponsor in NASCAR, to help raise money for the National Disaster Relief fund with "Racing for Relief," a per lap contribution program.
In addition, Jimmie and Chandra have supported the American Red Cross disaster relief programs including relief efforts surrounding Hurricane Katrina and the recent California Wildfires, where Jimmie, along with Lowe's, Hendrick Motorsports, and track owner Bruton Smith, donated over $1 million.
The Jimmie Johnson Foundation has partnered with San Diego Habitat for Humanity, Inc. to help needy families in Jimmie's hometown of El Cajon, California. Jimmie Johnson has been involved with the Hendrick Marrow Program since his rookie season at Hendrick Motorsports in 2002. In addition to participating in events to benefit the Hendrick Marrow Program such as the celebrity golf classic, Jimmie also serves as the spokesperson for the NASCAR Foundation Blood and Marrow Drive. In 2007, 3,410 pints of blood were collected and over 1,000 volunteers were added to the National Marrow Donor Program Registry. The donations from the drive have the potential to save over 11,000 lives.
Jimmie and Chandra Johnson serve on the National Advisory Council for Make-A-Wish. They have been council members since 2005. Jimmie also grants numerous wishes at the race track each year.
The Jimmie Johnson Foundation has funded the construction of Jimmie Johnson's Victory Lanes at the Victory Junction Gang Camp, which provides camping experiences free of charge to children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. The four-lane bowling alley allows these special kids to experience the childhood joy of bowling their first strike in the comfort of a medically safe environment.
