Hendrick Marrow Program

Jimmie has been involved with the Hendrick Marrow Program since his rookie season at Hendrick Motorsports in 2002.  In addition to supporting and participating in events to benefit the Hendrick Marrow Program such as the Learn Live Hope Golf Classic and the Be The One Run, Jimmie served as the spokesperson for the NASCAR Foundation Blood and Marrow Drive. 

Past Events Include:

Speed for Children in Need

  • Speedway Children's Charities and the Hendrick Marrow Program hosted this 5K run/walk on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.  In addition to the 5K, the event offered a 1.5 mile track walk and a kid's dash. 

 

Be the One Run

  • The Hendrick Marrow Program partnered with Be the Match for the inaugural Be the One Run, which was held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Jetton Park in Cornelius, NC.  The event featured will feature a 5K and 1K for adults, a 1K for youth, and a Tot Trot. 

 

Pepsi Refresh Project

  • In 2010, the Jimmie Johnson Foundation partnered with the Be The Match Foundation in the NASCAR Pepsi Refresh Campaign competition to win $100,000 for the Transplant Grants for Kids program.

       

NASCAR Foundation Blood and Marrow Drive 2006-2008 

  • On any given day, more than 6,000 children and adults are searching for a marrow match on the National Marrow Donor Program Registry® (NMDP).  Between 2006 and 2008, 9,828 pints of blood were collected and 6,265 members were added to the National Marrow Donor Program Registry.  The donations from the drives have the potential to save over 34,914 lives.
