Jimmie Johnson Foundation Lowe's Toolbox for Education™ Champions Grant Program

About the Champions Grant Program
The Jimmie Johnson Foundation, in partnership with Lowe’s Toolbox for Education, has been supporting schools through the Champions Grant program since 2009.  Champions Grants are distributed to K-12 public schools in Chandra and Jimmie Johnson’s hometowns in California, North Carolina and Oklahoma.

Champions Grant program awards range in size from a minimum of $25,000 to a maximum of $100,000.

Application Process
There are two steps involved in the application process.

Step 1 – Application
The application is available on the JJF website.  The application includes: 
 
1.         Cover Page
2.         Information Page
3.         Narrative
4.         Signature Page
5.         Budget Worksheet
 
Step 2 - Potential Site Visit (at the discretion of the Grants Committee)
 
Eligibility
Any public K-12 school or any 501c(3) parent group association in the districts below are eligible to apply.  Please note that schools and parent groups must be more than 2 years old.  Eligible school districts are:
 
California        
Cajon Valley Union School District
Grossmont Union High School District
San Diego Unified School District
 
North Carolina
Cabarrus County Schools
Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools
 
Oklahoma       
Hilldale Public Schools
Muskogee Independent School District 20/Muskogee Public Schools 
Oklahoma School for the Blind
 
Charter Schools
Any charter school geographically located within the eligible school districts may apply. 
 
Application Dates
Application Process Opens: Monday, January 16th

Application Process Closes: 5:00pm on Tuesday, May 1st

*JJF staff will  provide general feedback on applications submitted on or before April 20th.

*Applications received after the 5:00pm ET deadline on May 1st will not be considered

*Incomplete applications will not be considered

   
If your school is not located in one of the eligible school districts listed above, unfortunately, you are not eligible for a Champions Grant.  You may still be eligible for the standard Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant program.  Please visit http://www.toolboxforeducation.com/ to learn more.
