The foundation’s signature event is the Jimmie Johnson Foundation Annual Golf Tournament presented by Lowe’s.  This year’s tournament will be held October 5 and 6, 2010 in San Diego, California.

The event features more than 250 guests from across the country.  The festivities begin with a dinner and auction the night before the golf tournament.  The live auction has featured items such as a Jeff Gordon fire suit, Jimmie’s race winning Helmet of Hope, a VIP Derek Jeter experience, a Garth Brooks concert experience, and more.   For pictures from last year’s tournament, click here.

To date, the event has raised more than $1.5 million for organizations in Southern California including San Diego Habitat for Humanity and the Jimmie Johnson Foundation/Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Champions Grant program.  Funds from this year’s event will again go to K-12 public schools in the area through the Champions Grants program.  For more information on the Champions Grant program, click here.
